Our History
The linage of CRN Wireless dates back to 1985 when the initial FCC radio frequencies were licensed, radio tower space was leased, the initial Network Operations Center (NOC) was designed and built, and the first NearNet UHF point-to-point radios went “on-line.” NearNet radios installed as far back as 1990 are still reporting daily to the NOC. Throughout the years, CRN Telemetry Devices, a sister company of NearNet, has designed and built UHF point-to-point radio networks that have been deployed in other parts of the United States, South America, and the Caribbean. In 2001, AlarmPath was formed to take advantage of the worldwide cellular networks being built. Proprietary cellular transmitters and receivers were designed and the NOC was redesigned to enable the decoding and retransmission of data received from the cellular devices.
